Today we drove up from Banff to Johnston Canyon (frozen solid) to Lake Louise. We had hoped to admire the glaciers and beautiful moraine lake, but the lake, not unlike the glaciers, was also frozen. We did stop by the Fairmont Lake Louise where they had constructed remarkable ice sculptures on the lake, including a very large and strangely elaborate Patron Tequila "monument". We opted for this photo, seated on an ice throne at the hotel's entrance. We didn't stay long, and for sure did not sit a while on this bench of ice.
